The Huntingdon County History & Heritage and Juniata Valley River Visitors Bureau Free Museum Day

Looking to go back in time? Wanting to go on an adventure not too far from home? Then we have just the event for you, Free Museum Day!

Huntingdon County and the Juniata River Valley is the home of many museums, historical societies, and historical sites. As an effort to bring awareness to our rich heritage we are offering a Free Museum Day. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity and tour one or more of our museums.

This year Huntingdon County is partnering with Juniata River Valley Visitors Bureau, and including Mifflin, and Juniata Counties to bring the museum experience to our entire tri-county area.

It will be a great day to learn and maybe even experience how things were done many years ago. From vintage tools and farming equipment to riding a trolley, visiting a one-room school house or a blacksmith shop, going from a model railroad to an actual train station. There's so much to see and do! You don't want to miss it!

Participating locations in Huntingdon County: Huntingdon County: Coleraine Forges Mansion, Isett Heritage Museum, Swigart Museum, Friends of the East Broad Top Museum, Huntingdon County Historical Society, Huntingdon County Visitors Bureau - Exhibition Area, Bricktown Museum, Rockhill Trolley Museum.

This event is sponsored by the Huntingdon County History & Heritage Roundtable, Isett Heritage Museum, and Juniata River Valley Visitors Bureau.
